Christy + Bryan’s Sycamore Farm Bloomington, Indiana Fall Wedding by Stacy Able a Indianapolis Wedding Photographer
My lexicon can not begin to describe how beautiful this wedding was to photograph. Fortunately, you can see the images above rather than hear me ramble on.
Christy and Bryan gave us so much time to take portraits of the two. They were also incredibly nice, easy going, and receptive to my crazy ideas. It doesn’t hurt that you can’t take a bad photo at Sycamore Farm Bloomington. The way the sun sets behind their barn is magical. I wish I could shoot here more often!
Thank you two so so much in trusting us to capture your celebrations. I hope you love these images as much as I do. A few will be going in my best of gallery shortly!
Q+A with the Bride and Groom: The day itself was incredible. While things didn’t go exactly as planned (they never do) I don’t think we could have possibly imagined it going any better than it did. We actually fell backwards into our venue though. We had originally agreed to use a different venue and had even scheduled a date…only to find out about a week and a half later that they had inadvertently double booked and we were the odd couple out. That said, things definitely worked out even better for us when we found out that Sycamore Farm had an opening just a week after our original date. In all honesty, it probably was a better fit in the end and we couldn’t be happier. Between the incredible fall colors and the gorgeous, crisp autumn day we couldn’t have picked a better day if we tried. We wanted to go with a more rustic look/theme, which went wonderfully with the venues existing decor. Our colors were deep red wine, blush, ivory, and champagne gold. The simple white lights made even the most common pieces look beautiful while some of our custom pieces, including the wagon wheel/mason jar chandelier that my dad made just for the occasion, helped to create a more unique feel for us. Nearly all of our wedding decorations were designed/handmade by myself and my family (chalkboard/wooden signs, lanterns, mason jars, ivory pumpkin table decor, corn hole boards, etc). Paired with the beautiful scenery provided by Sycamore Farm, the entire wedding looked nicer than we ever could have imagined.
Favorite Moments: (Bryan) Christy jumping the gun with her “I do” made for a memorable moment that put a more personal touch on the ceremony. (Christy) Worrying and feeling uncomfortable at being the center of attention as I started to walk down the aisle…until I saw Bryan at the other end and felt everyone else fade away. It really felt like it was just the two of us and it made the rest of my walk that much easier.
Funny Moments: All of Bryan’s friends serenading Christy during the reception to Boys II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You”…they even had a coordinated dance! Our flower girl’s meticulous walk down the aisle (making sure no patch of grass went uncovered) was absolutely adorable.
First Dance Song(s): Bride/Groom- Thinking Out Loud (Ed Sheeran), Bride/Father- Stealing Cinderella (Chuck Wicks), Groom/Mother- I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack)
