 Q&A with Bride Brett:

Jordan and I love long, cozy dinners with friends and wanted our wedding to have a similar feel.  The moment I saw the Indianapolis Public Library I knew it was the venue for us, and The Simon Reading Room provided the perfect setting.  I could just picture how warm and intimate it would feel in November.  We also wanted to incorporate elements of New York into the wedding, as it is the city where we met and live.  Our table numbers were all subway stops that have special meaning to us, the guest book was a coffee table of New York, and our entrance song was Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York”.

The wedding was perfect, and we were so happy our family and friends were able to celebrate with us.

Favorite moment(s)? Our favorite moment was the ceremony.  Reverend Dr. Ray Bowden, is such a special person, and he had some wonderful words to share with us. It was so meaningful, and I felt so close to Jordan in those moments.  And, fun fact, this was Ray’s 998th wedding!

My dad’s speech was also really special.  He is a great public speaker and everyone enjoyed his welcome.  It was a great way to start dinner.

Funniest moment(s)? The maid of honor, my sister Hope. and the best man, Jordan’s brother Nate, both gave very funny and thoughtful speeches.  A favorite quote from Nate’s speech was “Brett, you look beautiful tonight.  Jordan… you look like my brother.”
