#Wndr museum + downtown Chicago engagement photography

Taylor and Chris were beyond fun to work with. Together, these two are an adorable and fun couple. While we were chatting about location possibilities for their downtown Chicago engagement session, Taylor brought up the Wndr museum. Not knowing much about it, I did a quick Instagram search and quicky agreed that it would be SO much fun. And, it was! We wandered the museum and took some truly unique and creative portraits. The glass room had a time limit of 60 seconds which was a fun challenge. After the museum, we visited the water front to get a skyline backdrop. Their pup also joined in for a few quick photos. If you look closely, you’ll see their date is on each of their t-shirts. We totally lucked out weather wise, too as it was a semi warm 50 degree day in January in Chicago! I can not WAIT to work with these two, and their families, this fall!

Q + A with Bride to be Taylor:

How did you two meet?

We met in Kansas City Power and Light District. His friend who was being his boisterous self grabbed my friend and I’s attention and I noticed Chris standing next to him. I thought Chris was handsome so I found him later and asked where his friends went and he made a funny comment back. Humor is the way to my heart. We ended up dancing to Luke Bryan that night. That song will be our first dance 🙂

First Date?

Our first date was hilarious! He came to my college soccer game and saw me score a goal and then we went out for Mexican food. After we watched a war movie that he was quoting nonstop. After that night, you could find him cheering me on at after soccer game after that!

How did he propose?

We went out to a fancy dinner at a surprise restaurant for our four year anniversary. After dinner we went for a walk and when I turned around in the lobby, both sets of parents and my best friends from college and graduate school were all there and he got down on one knee! That was after I proceeded to walk toward my friends and family because I was so surprised to see them. I will never forget that moment! We are actually having our wedding in the hotel where we went to dinner that night.

Wedding plans?

We will be getting married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and having the reception to follow at the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg. We cannot wait to celebrate with our family and friends! We will be honeymooning in Jamaica!
