Hi, I’m Stacy Able, a professional photographer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. My passion for photography began with my Bachelor’s of Science degree from Clemson University in Graphic Communications.
I specialize in weddings, proudly serving couples of all faiths and orientations. I often am based in Indianapolis and have captured over 500+ celebrations. This is my 17th year in business!
My signature style is a mix of timeless, romantic, authentic, and candid imagery in true to life colors. Every detail, person, heirloom, and the in-between candid moments, are captured in a way that enhances the real unfiltered beauty of the moment. Throughout our time together, I have a confident and calming energy. In 20 years your photos will reflect the natural color, mood, and love of your day without being dated.
My work has been in publications that ranges from The New York Times, The Knot, Indianapolis Monthly, and online on blogs such as Style Me Pretty and Martha Stewart Weddings. You can see some of those on my published page.
Originally a Californian, I met a gentlemen with a big heart at the Bloomington Farmers market. Walter broke the ice by chatting with my Chihuahua. Our relationship grew into a love story full of farmers markets, canines, travel, and volunteering. In 2007, Walter proposed at the Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua, Guatemala, where we were married a year later. We wed in Central America as we wanted our Guatemalan “family” that we’ve volunteered with to attend. You can see a few of our wedding images here: Guatemala Destination Wedding.
When not on assignment, you might find me with our Barbet and Chihuahua Willow. I am active in showing our Barbet, an English Toy Spaniel named Eden, as well as President of the Barbet Club of America. I also enjoy hiking, baking over the top treats, working with clay, gardening, airstreaming, and volunteering with the Love Pet Project.
Walter is the president of a non-profit organization Seeds of Help (www.seedsofhelp.org) which provides grassroots development in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. I am fortunate to donate my photography skills to bring awareness to the Mayan woman and children in this region. My most recent trip to Guatemala was to document a class which was featured in Pattern Magazine (pages 83-87).

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN AND HOW IT’S GOING NOW
2001: Clemson
While taking Photography 101 at Clemson University, I purchased my first Nikon and hit the ground running. I photographed Clemson Football games as well as photographed assignments for the Clemson Tiger.
2008: Beginnings
Walter and I were married in Antigua, Guatemala.
I captured my first wedding in 2008 and fell in love with capturing couple’s stories.
2010: Growth
Weddings were captured across the country. I traveled internationally as well as to various states to capture weddings. Several gorgeous celebrations were captured right here at home in Indianapolis.
2025: Travel!
In 2025, I ventured around the globe for weddings. From New Zealand, Mexico (twice), and Italy to many engagement sessions and weddings in Chicago, Colorado, and Indianapolis. Travel is back!
