To sum the day up in one word: perfection. I would be lying if I said everything came together seamlessly during the planning process, but I’m confident to say that all of the preparing and planning paid off in the end as everything just fell into the place the day of. We scoured over different venues around Indianapolis and new we wanted something different yet still classic and within our style, so the Indianapolis Artsgarden just kind of fell into our lap. The space was ideal for the size of our wedding guests and the view through their giant glass windows that looked out into the heart of downtown were how we knew this was ‘The One’. I consider myself to be a very minimalistic person who likes to keep things as simple as possible, and it was just perfect how the Artsgarden basically decorated itself. I really didn’t have to add much to it!

I had so many favorite moments that day, I’ll share three. The first of course was when I was walking down the aisle, and my gaze was on Sam the entire time. I didn’t look at anyone else, I didn’t want to psych myself out by thinking about who was in the crowd. I honestly felt like it was just Sam and me in the room. My second favorite moment was soon after Sam and I walked down the aisle concluding the ceremony. We walked straight upstairs to the balcony where the bar was, I kicked my heels off in front of the bartenders and they laughed and immediately handed me a drink. There were no words needed. My last favorite moment was my dance with my grandfather. He was so nervous being up in front of a whole crowd of people who were only looking at the two of us, and we exchanged a very intimate conversation which was a first and something I will never forget.

Funniest moment was while we were dancing and our 5yo ring bearer starts tearing up the dance floor with his break dancing moves. His parents told us later that they have no idea where their kid learned to breakdance as neither of them ever taught him!

Our first dance song was “Meant To Be” by Melissa Polinar. She’s a popular Youtube artist who I introduced to Sam when we first started dating and it’s been our number one favorite song ever since. Sam danced with his mother to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” and I with my grandfather to Lennon & Maisy’s “A Life That’s Good.”
