Stacy + Bob’s Indianapolis New Years Eve wedding at the Indiana Historical Society by Stacy Able Photography

There was no way I would rather spend the new year than capturing Stacy and Bob’s Indianapolis New Years Eve wedding at the Indiana Historical Society. It is always great to celebrate the new years with new friends. The bride Stacy has become a good friend and throughout her planning process she would send me text updates which made me all the more excited to be a part of the celebrations.

Stacy was absolutely stunning! From her Louboutins to her mermaid hair, this bride had style. Leslie Hair and Makeup did an amazing job crafting Stacy’s romantic look. The visible joy Stacy had throughout the day shows up so well in the images. She has such a great smile! I can’t forget Bob who looked oh so debonair. The scarf that matched his tux was such a sophisticated touch.

Stacy chose a great team of Indianapolis wedding professionals. The Indiana Historical Society in downtown Indianapolis sparkled. Their giant clocks hanging above were a nice touch for this New Years Eve Wedding.  Having Jen from Four Leaf Events keep everything running smoothly was a treat. Then, Ashley and the Cosmos kept everyone on the dance floor all night. It was quite the party!

I could go on and on but the photos speak beyond more written word. Thank you so very much Stacy and Bob in having Walter and I share in your day. It was our pleasure! Cake bake on me next time you two are in town!

Bride + Groom Q+A

We knew we wanted a New Year’s Eve wedding that would be classy, festive and fun. For the venue, it had to blend both of our tastes with mine being modern and Bob’s being more classical/antique. The Indiana Historical Society was the perfect blend with the gorgeous staircase, white walls and marble floors-plus we loved the idea of the clocks as decor for a New Year’s Eve wedding! The date and the venue set the tone and we wanted to play up the holidays with gold, lights, clean white flowers for decor and NYE accessories to keep it festive. We also knew we wanted to tie San Francisco (where we live/met) into our day through the programs and invitation suite which turned out great. I could not imagine the day going any better-we got super lucky with no major weather snafus and we had a fantastic evening ringing in the new year with friends and family.

So many [favorite moments] to choose from! If I had to narrow it down I would say the midnight countdown and champagne toast, our first look before the ceremony, or the first dance.

While we were taking photos around the JW Marriott, the hotel happened to also be hosting a big conference for college kids and every time we walked by they would clap and cheer. Since we went back and forth a lot, there was a lot of cheering as we were looking for less crowded spaces for photos!

First dance songs I Think I Love You by Guggenheim Grotto and Baby You’ve Got What It Takes as covered by Michael Buble. I’ve been swing dancing for 15+ years and Bob was dedicated enough to learn with me this year which made our first dance really fun and special.
